Fight Seasonal Depression With Careful Furniture Choices

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

It is hard to not feel happy when the summer roles around. You have a skip in your step, the birds are singing and you have the warm sun on your face. When the shorter colder days of winter approach however, a lot of peoples mood shifts. Seasonal Affective Disorder is a recognized condition that affects around 2% of the population and around 10% of people report symptoms. Lethargy, mood swings, muscle pains and generally feeling low are among the many that people report. What causes this is not known exactly, but we do know that one of the major influences is lower light levels in winter causing brain and body chemical communication errors. If light levels drop below a certain point, the eyes send a message to the brain which assumes it is night time and prepares the body for sleep by making you tired and weary.

Do Any Of These Symptoms Accompany Your Panic Attacks?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

i used to have panic attacks quite regularly, they came out of nowhere, all i can pin it down to really is a plane flight to greece…ive never had a problem flying but this time i really spazzed out, i even spilled boiling hot coffee on the person next to me :$
anyway like i said i don't have them anymore, but when i did it used to feel like i was having a heart-attack/going to faint and they usually came on in crowded places/buses.
but now i don't have them, i just feel dizzy, permanently exausted and i always have a headache.
are these symptoms linked?
if not, what might have caused this?
thanks x

Hi.
It definitely sounds like panic attacks. I get them too, but only when I'm encountered with math. I was never able to do math, therefore, I got horrible panic attacks and anxiety problems.
Obviously, your panic attack was from your flight to Greece. Although you've never had any problems with flying before, its a good possibility that you had just developed a fear to fly. Its just like somebody with an allergic reaction, you may not be allergic to say.. dust, but tomorrow its a possibility that you can be allergic to it.
The exact same thing goes for panic attacks and anxiety problems, you may not have a fear of something at first, like flying for example, but then your next flight you might notice something about the plane that you didn't notice last time, and it just really, really scares you or makes you uneasy.
Dizziness and exhaustion are definitely symptoms of a panic attack, I don't see what else it could be.
