I've had severe panic from what I suspect is withdrawal from 3 mgs/day of clonazepam, which I took for approximately 3 months. The dosing regimen I am on now works okay, but not perfectly. What is your opinion of it?
Clonazaepam is a better drug. Alprazolam should not be taken more than 4 times daily. Alprazolam is addictive.
I like Alazopram.

its a very high dose for just 1 day, and you dont want to live in a haze… maybe just take them as needed instead of a strict regimen…the more you take now the quicker you will become tolerant and have to increase the dose. i take valium just as needed but try not to overdo it.
i really like it though
combine ur medication with a self help book

Consider using the panic control techniques at http://www.ezy-build.net. (.net.nz/~shaneris) on page 8, and tapering off the alprazolam, as advised in section 2, with medical advice as to how many MONTHS to take to do it. If they don't work for you, (unlikely) just go back to using the medication.

You did have panic attacks BEFORE the clonazepam, right? If not, why was it prescribed?
4 mg/day of alprazolam (Xanax) is what I'm prescribed for my Panic Disorder, and it works for me.
If you experience excess sleepiness during the day (likely, on that much Xanax), you might talk to your shrink about taking clonazepam by day (causes less drowsiness) and Xanax by night (it'll help you sleep). That's the regimen I'm on.
Warning: on that much Xanax, do NOT stop taking it suddenly. You could end up in an E.R. with life-threatening seizures. If you ever decide to stop taking Xanax, you'll need to taper off slowly. Or you could just keep taking it for the rest of your life (that's my plan)….
